How can I thin my hair without thinning scissors?

I've heard that you can use a razor but when I tried it, it didn't work too well. I have "emo hair" lol.. and it's thick, so when I part it to the side and sweep it over, it's very thick on top and kindof "poofs" out. Any advice?

Okay, yep i had the same probs but when u sweep it over do it when u have just had a shower so when your hair is wet. Then dry it and usually is shouldnt poof out. I have rili thick hair and i found sweeping it over when its wet helps. Over suggestion is to go to a hairdressers and ask them to thin it out. Or maybe 'i havnt tried this' but try thinning it without thinning scissors if you no how to.

not a good idea, trust me, i have experience, youl defo regret it.

Id suggest to just layer your hair, that makes a difference to the poofyness.

if it is possible, i would go to a salon and have it done. they have used a razor type scissors and also a clipper to thin out my hair and it looks and feels great. good luck. :)
