well i have extremely thin hair. i got extentions for prom and they looked really good. i had "hi-grade yaki". i cant remember the exact brand, and im not at home to check the package (because i still have some left) lol. but they were good quality, felt nice, and were only $40. just go to a hair place and ask for that, they will know what youre talking about!

also, get your hair sewn in by a hair dresser!

Good thing price doesn't matter, because if you want good extensions made from real hair, they are pricey.

I would suggest you consult a hair specialist rather than trying to apply extensions on your own. The specialist will examine your hair and scalp to see what can be done to help you. If your hair is thin and fine, you may not be able to use extensions. Sometimes a different cut, like a blunt cut, will make your hair appear thicker.

Salon applied extensions can damage your hair -- which you probably don't want to do if you're hair is thin.

Have you looked into clip in hair extensions? Jessica Simpson's Hairdo is a brand that everyone's buzzing about lately.

Clip in hair extensions are least likely to damage your hair, and can even protect your hair from damage.

Human hair clip in extensions are the top of the line. Hairdo's human hair clip ins cost about $450 and last about a year or longer. You get more bang for your buck with the human hair clip ins because synthetic extensions last about 3 months and salon applied extensions last 4 months (at best).

Here's a website with lots more info., how to pick the best color, coupon codes to save $$ and how-to videos by Ken Paves (Jessica Simpson's hairstylist): http://clipinhairextensions.weebly.com/

Take one strand of hair and pull it. If it comes out very easily, then your hair may not be suitable for extensions. If you have to pull it pretty hard, then your hair may be okay.

Human extensions which are commonly used are heavy, so your hair may not be okay for them.

I advise you to go to a salon and ask them.

But for my opinion, I'd go with Micro Ring extensions done at your local salon, they last about 2 months and the price varies. It takes a few hours to do a full head normally. You can also try clip in extensions, can last a really long time, but you do re-apply daily. [100.00+ for a full set]

Again, just go to a local salon that does extensions, tell them your price range and they'll look at your hair and tell you the best choice for you. :)
