How can I get my hair nice and thin/silky and soft?

I'm a 15 year-old guy. My problem is, I have extremely dry/frizzy hair, that is VERY thick. I've kept my hair short all my life, but recently decided to grow it out, at which point, I realized my hair wasn't straight like I always assumed it was. It takes all these strange twists and turns on my head, like I have hairs right next to each other that go in completely different directions as well.

Is there anything I can do to get my hair soft and silky, and maybe thin it out and make it more manageable? Thinning it out at a salon isn't any option anymore, because it just costs too much to get it thinned out every two weeks.... I was thinking about getting a straightener, but I really don't want to have to resort to that, for fear of losing my manlyhood entirely. %26gt;.%26gt;

How can I get my hair nice and thin/silky and soft?

well to get it nice and soft use Garnier! honestly...i swear by it! and try the deep conditioners! and you may not want to or rather NEED to thin your hair! after it gets nice and smooth..it looks better when your hair is thick! i dated a guy that thinned out his hair....and because so he started going bald! so you may not wanna do that!! just try the conditioner treatments from garnier and the shampoo and it is vital that when you put the regular conditioner in your hair to comb it through your hair with a big toothed comb...it helps make it softer. and also do not rinse ALL of it out..leave just a little in your hair! it REALLY helps!!!

How can I get my hair nice and thin/silky and soft?

you can buy Garnier Fructis shampoo %26amp; conditioner. if you bathe in it 24/7, you will have soft hair. when you get out of the shower, blow dry your hair for 20 min. and your hair will be the silkiest hair ever. and Garnier Fructis is have a 80% off price and that's $2.00 ! Report It

How can I get my hair nice and thin/silky and soft?

ok, don't thin your hair, it just grows back frizzier! use a really good conditioner with moisturizers, and blowdry, i know i know manlyhood and all but it will make the hair smoother and more manageable. blowdry while brushing in the direction you want the hair the lay. then use some anti frizz cream, but please don't thin out your hair!

How can I get my hair nice and thin/silky and soft?

i agree don't thin your hair that ruins it plus itll dry real easily - take a shower then when you get out pat your hair with a towel then take your brush and use it to dry your hair with. itll give you a very natural straight

aussie's tizz no frizz... um chi products are kick butt... aussie has 3 minute miracle creme too. that works really good

How can I get my hair nice and thin/silky and soft?

How can I get my hair nice and thin/silky and soft?

you could put a chemical relaxer in it. That would smooth the frizz out and give you easier hair to work with. It would only last a few months thou.

Any advice to help thicken thin hair??

My hair is very very thin, you can tell from this picture:

http://img522.imageshack.us/img522/4186/...

My hair is naturally curly though and it sometimes looks like I have a lot but I don't. It falls out WAYYY too much. I know hair is supposed to fall everyday [ about 100 strands a day ] but mine is way more than that. I've had lots of tests at the doctors for things like theroid and such but everything says I'm healthy.

Is there anything that I could do that would help the hair loss and thicken up my hair? I already use anti-breakage shampoos and stuff.

Also, my hair, although it falls a lot, it grows very fast. I take Biotin as well, which is a vitamin for hair and nail growth.

Any advice to help thicken thin hair??

I have the exact same problem. I got tests done, and I don't have anemia or a thyroid problem and no stress. So all in all, the doctor couldn't do anything else to figure it out so she referred me to a dermatologist. It's probably a scalp problem, like I have dandruff...so anyways, you should try getting an appointment with the dermatologist. Mine's in November...so far away..but I guess there aren't many dermatologists here!

Any advice to help thicken thin hair??

I am a pharmacy student and i also have a friend who experience what you had just experienced. I suggest you must consult a doctor first. We have different types of hair and if we are using shampoo and conditioners that does not fit with our hair type, it could be the cause of your falling hair. Stress is also a cause. You may use shampoo which contain minoxidil as hair grower. But still it is important to consult specialist.

Any advice to help thicken thin hair??

I am a hairstylist and if you were sitting in my chair and you asked me this question. I would reccomend layers, texturizing or a few subtle carmel highlights just on the top.

How would a hairdresser thin your hair?

And how much does it cost?

How would a hairdresser thin your hair?

do you think your hair is too thick? mee too! oh and they just use special scissors. don't worry just ask them to do it when you get your hair cut next, the don't charge anything. but be careful, you're hair gets thicker when it grows back, so if you get your hair thinned out once, make sure you'll have the time to keep up with the task of getting it done quite often!

How would a hairdresser thin your hair?

they have special scizzors it cost about the same as a regular hair cut

trust me i get it done all th time

How would a hairdresser thin your hair?

With weight watchers I reckon.

How would a hairdresser thin your hair?

Flatiron it. It depends on who you go to. But you can flat iron your own hair unless you're like me and afraid that you're gonna burn yourself. Hope that helped!

How would a hairdresser thin your hair?

They have thinning shears they can use, should be the same cost as your regular hair cut seeing as it is just a technique used.

How would a hairdresser thin your hair?

They use shearing scissors (like for sheep. LOL jk) They slide them down ur hair, it's similar to getting layers.

How would a hairdresser thin your hair?

thinning shears...you can buy some of your own on sephora.com if you trust yourself at all to trim your own hair.

and as for price obviously it depends on where you go.

any decent place should be around thirty to fourty.

How would a hairdresser thin your hair?

they turn the scissors vertical and slightly run them down your hair. Or they use these other types of scissors. There's 2 ways.

I don't think it would be expensive at all. When you go to the hair dresser to get your hair cut, ask them to thin it out while they're at it.

How would a hairdresser thin your hair?

They usually take a comb looking thing %26amp; brush it through your hair but it really isn't a comb it has sharp things that thin it out. You could also just get layers. And cost totally depends on where you go just like normal cuts %26amp; colors.

How would a hairdresser thin your hair?

they have special scissors that do it. hey cost about the same as regular scissors.

How would a hairdresser thin your hair?

Hmm,depends who you go to mostly.

When I want my hair to be thinner,my hairdresser uses a razor on it. [Layering it]

How would a hairdresser thin your hair?

well it cost the usual like 8-12 bucks

this is what they do.

they have these special scissors that you take your hair and you cut right through your hair and then you brush your hair, and a whole bunch of hair starts coming out like when a you are brushing your cats fur for the first time in a year, a lot will come out but your cats hair will still be the same length and eveything just neater and thinner.

you should ask to see the scissors when you are there. they are so cool, and trust me those sissors are like magic how they are made with their special desighn. and the best part is you come out with your lenth of your hair all the same! only your hair is thinner!

i do it like every 6 months

works great =)

How would a hairdresser thin your hair?

Thinning shears. They are special scissors. They have one blade that looks simular to a regular pair of scissors. The other blade has gaps like a very wide tooth comb. When the scissors are opened and closed it snips hair so that there are spaces cut out between the "gap" areas. This is layering or thinning the hair. This adds more body and lift. I always have this done at eat hair cut appointment. This in no additional cost. It's just part of a hair cut. If your hairdresser does not ask to do this, or does the thinning, just ask. They will be happy too.

How would a hairdresser thin your hair?

they have thinning sicsors. you could actually buy them yourself, i'm not sure of the cost though. :)

How would a hairdresser thin your hair?

With scissors that have little teeth so only half of what they cut is gone. I had a hairdresser do that to me right at the scalp when I was a teenager it looked awful when it started to grow out! They can also use a razor to add texture or just get good old fashioned layers

How would a hairdresser thin your hair?

I don't think how she cut my hair.I trust her when I come to barber.I just said to her "make it suit me" and it cost only 8$

How would a hairdresser thin your hair?

The link below gives the "how it's done" explanation for thinning better than me. In my area, hair thinning is often included with a style cut in many salons, so depending what salon %26amp; how chic it is you can spend between $12 and $60 dollars for a style cut; some salons charge even more.
