My problem is that I like to put my fingers through my hair all the time and that takes out the hairspray and it goes flat again.

try "thick" a body and texture amplifer made by Rusk. It's light and does give some volume without adding grease.Apply to damp hair, then blowdry.

mine is worse... i have long thick hair but not a lot of it lol. so it's really weird. but u could try a volumizing shampoo. i have one by redken that actually has some antigravity polymer and keeps ur hair volumized. ummm straightening ur hair will definitely make it flatter, so avoid it if u can. try 2 loose skinny braids or loose pigtails. i like how those styles look...ummmm you can also use a little mousse for volume or make moussey waves and make a loose bun with some loose strands around ur face. the cut that i think looks really good is slight layering around the face with as much one length as u can and a side bang cut more into the hair and parted far on the opposite side for more of a thick bang look. but i think u also have to have the right face for it.

go to your stylist and ask about what you can do to thin out your hair some so you can keep some volume. I bet the problem you are having is that your hair is so long and heavy that gravity just flattens it out. You can get your hair thinned out without losing length and make it more manageable.

you could make it look thicker by cutting it shorter or you could braid it or style it differently than down.

The waves from a braid make all hair (in my experience at least) look thicker, and putting it in a pony tail or bun looks nice on almost anyone. Your stylist could probably help.

I am just like you....the trick that helped to kill that dead flat hair is to cut it. Is it all one layer? I noticed that layering it helped a lot too. Now if I go into the rain and I have it blown out I can just run my fingers through it and I don't have to worry about it looking crazy, but if I have gel in it, it will be curly/wavy.

What I do is blow my hair upside down. I think straightening it is not a good idea because it'll only make it flatter. I had super straight hair and i went ahead and got big waves. It was worth it.

I would recommend a shorter style, that would make it easier to put volume into it. I would also suggest a Paul Mitchell Extra Body, to put into your hair before you blow dry it, also make sure to flip your head upside down when blow drying to increase the volume. For the oily, I would consider a fortyifer shampoo and condtioner there is a really good one from Biologe, that will help clean your hair and scalp, to get rid of the oil. Hope this helps!

ok, don't thin your hair, it just grows back frizzier! use a really good conditioner with moisturizers, and blowdry, i know i know manlyhood and all but it will make the hair smoother and more manageable. blowdry while brushing in the direction you want the hair the lay. then use some anti frizz cream, but please don't thin out your hair!

My hair is naturally curly though and it sometimes looks like I have a lot but I don't. It falls out WAYYY too much. I know hair is supposed to fall everyday [ about 100 strands a day ] but mine is way more than that. I've had lots of tests at the doctors for things like theroid and such but everything says I'm healthy.

Is there anything that I could do that would help the hair loss and thicken up my hair? I already use anti-breakage shampoos and stuff.

Also, my hair, although it falls a lot, it grows very fast. I take Biotin as well, which is a vitamin for hair and nail growth.

I have the exact same problem. I got tests done, and I don't have anemia or a thyroid problem and no stress. So all in all, the doctor couldn't do anything else to figure it out so she referred me to a dermatologist. It's probably a scalp problem, like I have dandruff...so anyways, you should try getting an appointment with the dermatologist. Mine's in November...so far away..but I guess there aren't many dermatologists here!

We have different types of hair and if we are using shampoo and conditioners that does not fit with our hair type, it could be the cause of your falling hair. Stress is also a cause.
