Yep, I have thinner hair and have the exact same cut. In fact, done right, layers will give your thin hair more volume as opposed to flat all one length hair. I like to use mousse on my roots and blowdry for volume. Then I use an iron on the bottom, starting about 3 inches from the roots. That way, you can get the sleek style without your hair looking limp and boring.
