I have thin hair too, I use Paul Mitchell Extra Body Sculpting Foam on my damp hair. I use a roller brush and roll like crazy for volume while i am drying and shaping it, then I use a bit of sculpting wax (my hair is a little on the short side) to spike it up a bit and make it piecey. Then I use the hair spray, and rub my fingers in it before it dries completely. Never brush it when you first put on hair spray, you will lose the volume. Ask your hairdresser, she can help you a lot.

I have very thin hair as well and what I use is sun silk hair volumizer and it works great.

Bath and Body Works has a nice volumizing conditioner in a lovely Coconut Lime Verbena scent. It does a pretty good job with adding volume to the hair.

When you are drying your hair, dry it with your head upside down. Brush it straight every couple of minutes while you are drying it. Then with your head upside down and your hair dry, spray on the volumizing spray or a good hairspray in general (I like Garneir) with your head upside down still when your hair is dry. Then toss your head back up right and spray the top part of your hair. Straighten out the strays and voila!

P.S. If you don't want your neck to cramp, get your hair half dried with your head up straight and then finish drying it with your head upside down. It might not look quite as thick, but should still do the trick pretty well.

I have a friend with thin hair, and she says pantene's volumizing shampoo and conditioner worked for her. It shouldn't take long to do, except she says that you should ALWAYS blow dry it or it'll pouf. I don't know if it's just her hair, but just in case. ^^
