You could always put it in a messy bun or ponytail (messy is in!) go to seventeen.com they have some good hair ideas.

I would stop putting products on it for a while and let it get back some of its natural shine, There is a really good product that I used for the same thing and my hair looks ten times better. If you have a sallys beauty supply store near you go and get this product called Doo Grow, It is a oil. I know it sounds cheap but it is full of awsome oils that really help moisturize the hair. Saturate your dry hair with it and put a shower cap on and leave it while you are doing things around the house or watching a movie. Really massage it into your scalp well. You can even apply a little heat. If you can try to go a few weeks with minimal heat and products on your hair. Sometimes a little break is all your hair needs.

1rst: work on getting it healthier. Avoid blow-drying it, using a curling iron or straightener on it. Condition it every time you wash, and (even if you don't have colored hair) use shampoo for colored hair--it is designed to strengthen hair more. (I have damaged hair, too, so I know). Take selenium and flaxseed oil to help strengthen your hair and keep it from falling out.

I would actually avoid the gel/hairspray--I think that can make hair look thinner and flattened. Don't get your hair layered much, either, as long layers will just make it look thinner. Short layers (less than an inch) can help add volume, though. Now: either grow it out or cut it short. Don't leave it at your shoulders (if it's there now). That's the worst length for frizzy, thin hair. (Once again, speaking from experience. :) If you cut it short, it won't look thin--but if your hair tends to be frizzy, it might still pouff out too much. I would suggest growing it out. Forget all the products and stuff. Just keep it simple. Some frizz is cute, so don't worry about keeping your hair flat like a pancake. If it's damaged, though, I'd keep it up while it repairs itself. Try a bun--or two little buns on each side of your head, extra cute for casual days. Avoid the ponytail--doesn't work for thin hair with frizzies! Depending on how thin your hair is, a braid my look cute (or 2 braids). Keep in mind that your body proportions also affect how your hair looks--if you're short and/or petite/thin, thin hair won't look so thin. Does your hair have any wave to it? I've found that when I don't blow dry mine, my hair has a natural wave that appears--but it will look much better if you grow your hair out, especially if the waves are long.

Try those styles for starters, but really focus on getting your hair back "in shape." Cut off any split ends, and try to avoid coloring your hair for a while. And condition, condition, condition! Use a deep conditioner once a week--it's like a mask for you hair, and it does wonders. And talk to your hair stylist, too. My stylists (I just go to the Regis chain of salons) has given me great tips about how to care for my damaged hair. Good luck!

Here's the trick. Instead of conditioning your hair in the shower, use a leave in light conditioner.. Pantene has one, but there are several out there. Here's what you do. Wash your hair with a very gentle shampoo. Try to avoid alcohol and fragrances. Now when you get out of the shower, spray the leave in conditioner on. Let your hair get almost dry... turn your head over upside down and blow your hair dry from the roots. Always blow opposite of the way you want your hair to go. This creates lift and body. Use some extra body mousse and tussle your hair as you blow dry it. It should NOT be crunchy when you are done. Hot roll your hair with the biggest rollers, and again, roll opposite of the way you want it to go. When you take out the curlers, do not touch your hair until its completely cool. Then turn your head over and mess it all up and spray a light hair spray as you do that. I promise you will get volume and height.
