Hair issues about cowlicks & thin sides. Help me?

My hair has a small cowlick in the front when I part it on the side. It REALLY bothers me because I love my hair up on the side. The little wispy baby hairs also stick up right there because of the cowlick, and they aren't long enough to be held down. I'd really like some advice, and I really don't want to use that many hot tools.

Another thing I have is that when I party my hair on the side, the other side is very thin and i look slightly lopsided. My hair is pretty thick, but I'm not sure why the side looks so thin, while my friends' hairs do not do it. Any suggestions? (again, not too much heat.)

Thanks!

part the hair to make it look as even as possible. if equally distributed hair is what you want.

a cowlick can be so attractive if you treat it like an asset instead of a liability. dont try to get rid of it.. work with it. use gel to weight it down if the little hairs stick up... if its situated at the sidetemple area, maybe you could get a cute hair barrette or bow to clip to the little hairs... or get some different hair color and change its color. a lighter shade might make it seem less noticable.

I have the same problem. I went to the hair stylist and she said it was because my hair type and also that I needed to get my hair done. It also depends on if your hair is curly or not. My hair being wavy tends to have many cowlicks. I try different ways of blow drying my hair and sometime I put leave in conditioner. It really helps. Promise!

...as for the baby hairs...take a toothbrush and put some clear hair gel on it...then just brush the hairs down in the direction you want them to be...wearing something around your head to keep them down until the gel dries is a good idea...

...and...just be more carefull with the thinner side when combing or brushing it, don't pull the hair back so tight...and make sure your hair isn't laying under your purse strap when you put your purse on your shoulder...these aare things that have contibuted to my hair being thinner on one side...
